Originally debuted in 2019 as Ts Magic Leaf, the Latina duo — Thalia & Thalia — are reintroducing their vision with a new purpose: to center philanthropy and community at our events. Ts Magic Leaf is now a brand that is dedicated to curating experiences with a purpose.
The “leaf” has always been our symbol of growth, balance, and renewal. Today, Ts Magic Leaf represents a deeper mission — helping people grow, heal, and find harmony through discretionary funds. Just as small milestones lead to great achievements, even the tallest tree in the Amazon began as a tiny seed. Our community needs hope now more than ever, and if Ts Magic Leaf can be that seed of light in a dark world, that will be our greatest accomplishment. One seed can grow a garden that feeds a whole community. One grain of hope — one mustard seed of faith — is more than enough.
OUR BACKSTORY
Our story is rooted in resilience. Inspired by Abuelita Yolanda, who courageously brought 10 of her 12 children from Ecuador to New York, our foundation stands on her strength. Despite language barriers, financial struggles, and limited support, she ensured that no child went hungry, unclothed, or uneducated. Her perseverance reminds us that asking for help is not a weakness — it’s a strength. And being in a position to give help is not a burden — it’s a privilege.
That same spirit lives in our co-founder, Thalia Montalvo, who experienced poverty firsthand — losing her home, living in a shelter, and navigating financial uncertainty throughout her childhood. Her journey to graduating college was not just a milestone, but a testament to faith, resilience, and community.
Through Ts Magic Leaf, Las Thalias aim to bring that same hope and courage to families across New York — and eventually, around the world.
Our mission is to use community events as a vehicle for change, directly supporting individuals and families impacted by poverty. Because for us, change starts in community — and in Latino culture, community starts with a party. There’s no party like a sala party — and we believe that connection you find at family parties can be a form of healing.
What began as a backyard gathering of 70 guests quickly grew into a series of penthouse events in NYC, creating partnerships with local businesses, brand sponsorships, and even a feature in Refinery29’s Latinx centered media page, R29Somos
After a two-year hiatus, Ts Magic Leaves is back — evolving into a new era of wellness, philanthropy, and culture. Our experiences will continue to celebrate community, education, and connection all while doing what we do best: bringing people together through great music, good food, and unforgettable energy.
Over the next 6 months, Ts Magic Leaf is raising $30,000 month to support NY/NJ area A.L.I.C.E. families through emergency relief + community fundraising events.
OUR MISSION
A.L.I.C.E. stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. These are parents, caregivers, and workers juggling multiple jobs who often don’t qualify for traditional assistance, yet still face urgent needs like rent gaps, utility shut-off notices, grocery shortages, and medical bills.
Ts Magic Leaf is raising $30,000 in 6 months to provide emergency relief for NY/NJ A.L.I.C.E. families — the hardworking people who keep our city running but still can’t afford the basics.
What your donation can provide (small amounts, big impact)
$5 helps cover a small essential in a pinch (soap, toothpaste, school supplies, pantry staples)
$10 helps with groceries/essentials for the week (bread, produce, toiletries)
$20 helps cover household basics like diapers, wipes, hygiene items, or cleaning supplies
$25 helps provide a fuller essentials bundle (groceries + toiletries)
$50 helps with utilities support or transportation to work/medical appointments
$75 helps cover multiple urgent needs at once (ex: groceries + transit + essentials)
$100 helps prevent shut-offs, cover a critical bill gap, or provide meaningful short-term relief depending on the need and available funds
To protect families and ensure funds are used responsibly, assistance will be distributed through:
Trusted nonprofit partners and community organizations, and/or
Direct relief to individuals/families when appropriate, with basic verification
We will share updates on funds raised, how many people were supported, and what categories of needs were covered (without ever sharing identities).
